Description

Unified Valve Group is seeking an Outside Sales Engineer – Steam and Process that is responsible for providing technical support, managing customer relationships, and generating sales. The Outside Sales Engineer - Steam and Process can be in either Edmonton or Calgary and would be responsible for their surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage territory business development through effective networking, cold calling, research, growing contact list and ensuring that Unified Valve Group is at the forefront of all local opportunities
  • Develop relations with consultants, contractors, commercial/industrial producers and OEM-EPC’s by calling on them and increase Unifieds market share
  • Work closely with consultant(s) on changing the product specification
  • Increase UVG presence for industrial projects within Western Canada
  • Implement relations with contractors to increase footprint
  • Develop, implement and monitor a business plan for the individual sales territory
  • Generate or exceed the required rate of sales activities in the area
  • Market and promote products to our customers with knowledge, service and product-related to the steam system and Industrial processes, which allow our customers to improve their process and steam system performance and increase their profitability
  • Log quotations and provide direction for products, strategy and margins
  • Able to complete preliminary product selection and sizing
  • Manage/participate in large projects as required
  • Maintain communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure complete, timely and accurate service delivery with every customer and every order
  • Liaise with Vendors and with key stakeholders regarding technical questions and pricing
  • Demonstrate a track record of exceeding targets continually by selling solutions to build strong customer relationships, yield customer loyalty and repeat sales
  • Identify key accounts within the individual sales territory, allocate sufficient time and resources to these accounts to develop a plan of attack and maximize sales for each account
  • Assists customers with product selection and pricing based on applicable products. Involve applications engineering, distributors or Independent Manufacturer’s Representative (IMR), or other resource as needed
  • Adherence with Unified Valve Groups Quality and Safety Program

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Relevant experience and understanding of process operation and steam systems required, minimum of 3 years
  • Experience in Outside Sales and Technical support
  • Exceptional communicator, presenter and customer service oriented
  • Proven track record in Sales and Customer Services
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide mentorship to fellow outside sales colleagues in all UVG regions
  • Ability to travel Internationally
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • 5 years of strong service sales experience in Oil & Gas
  • While there is a focus on service, sales and solutions – Previous experience selling new products and dealing with Alberta O&G Supply Chain is an asset
  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Alberta and surrounding area
  • Have strong Cold Calling skills
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to establish and foster strong trusting business relationships
  • Must be self-driven, entrepreneurially motivated and goal-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid computer skills and ability to quickly/effectively learn and adapt to new software or technology
